Here are some photos of the cocktail reception we hosted last Saturday.

The first thing is to have the registration table. Check out the huge crowd lining up to register their attendance

- lists were divided by Alphabetical format as well as by Tables seating

As the bride & groom, do be prepared to snap lots of photos with guests, as this will allow us to greet them personally and capture our joyous moment with them on film.

Harrace, Fione, and Mr & Mrs David Lo
The new wedding couple & friends. Harrace, Fione and Mr & Mrs David Lo, (who turned from a prospect client to close friends of the bride).

It’s wise to group the wedding guests by the different industries or network. For instance, reserve tables for friends of the mother of the bride or business partners.

Friends of the mother of the bride
My mom’s friends & my aunt (4th lady from the left). Some of them, were aunties & uncles i’ve seen since i was 5 years old, so i guess they were surprised to see how much i’ve really grown.

Friends to Father of the Bride - different races of guests - Malay, Indian & Chinese wedding guests

My father (3rd from the left) & his wide range of multi-racial friends. This is probably one of the few times you’ll ever catch my dad wearing a suit.

Overseas wedding guests - Singapore wedding guests of Fione & Harrace
Mr & Mrs Teng, who has been our most supportive shareholder in eOneNet.com business since 2000. They came all the way from Singapore just to attend our wedding!

Customers of Internet Marketing coaching program by eOneNet
Some of our most valuable internet marketing coaching participants, Norhuda & daughter, Harrace & Myriam Oliveres from France.

Childhood friends of the bridal couple - Eric, Lilian, Fione & Harrace
And of course, our valued friends. Lilian & her husband, Eric and kids took the whole family to join our wedding. Lilian and I have been close buddies since 5 years old (we were in the same kindergarden).

Not missing out, were of course friends of my brother, Kevin. Can you guess which is my brother? He’s the cute guy, 2nd from the left.

This cocktail was from 6.28pm to 7.28pm, so that guests would have time to interact & take lots of photos. What did they do while waiting at the reception? Well, we actually gave them an instruction sheet, where they had to fulfill a few “tasks” at the event, after which they can be entitled to join the Grand Lucky Draw for amazing gifts, wines, and of course, CASH too!

Wedding cocktail setting, reception in Asia
Check out how excited these guests were to attend the wedding.

While browsing through the photos, we realised 1 item. We did not have a chance to take a family portrait! I wished i could have taken some photos with my family while i was wearing my custom made Margaret McCallum, swarovski crystal wedding gown. Did you notice that the design of the gown looked rather familiar? Yup, it’s in the logo of @ (to represent the Internet theme). Maybe i’ll have to arrange for another timing for our family photo session!

Our wedding dinner at Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur with a cocktail reception at 6.28pm and i was surprised to hear that there were guests that arrived as early as 6 itself (at that point i was still doing my bridal make up & hair in the bridal suite).

Here is a photo of us with some of our guests :-

From left : Harrace’s mom (mother of the groom), Chelsia Ng (tv personality/celebrity & Miss Malaysia World), Harrace (the groom), Fione (me as the bride), and Kid Chan (who was actually a guest, but decided to bring in his camera too).

Our master of ceremony was Chelsia Ng , where eOneNet.com was managing her website, and being a personal friend, we knew how good she was as a MC.

When the time was right, guests were ushered into the ballroom and seated onto their respective tables, which were names of popular Websites, such as QQ.com (China’s most popular instant messaging system, even more popular than MSN Messenger), Amazon.com and of course our own range of sites like eOneNet.com

After the guests were seated down the lights for the ballroom lights were dimmed in preparation for the wedding march by the couple. You need to choose between total darkness or dimmed lights, so we choose the latter, as we would at least be able to see where we were going on the red carpet walkway.

Here is an animated photo of our wedding march.

On each table, flourescent light-up sticks (like neon glow lights) were placed so that guests could welcome the new couple, and party poppers were also placed. Upon reaching the stage, the huge party poppers were launched and there were lots of colours, and actions going on at the same time. Some wedding guests told me that it seemed more like a concert than a typical wedding dinner.

They held their respective wedding on the same date - 9 June, 2007.

Congratulations to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Datin Seri Jeanne Abdullah who tied the knot at his official residence at Seri Perdana yesterday!

I was so busy preparing for my wedding that I didn’t notice this piece of news until I spotted this on the front page of every newspaper in Malaysia, while I was having breakfast with Fione at M.O. So it was lucky we didn’t invite media to attend our wedding yesterday, otherwise we would be disappointed in not having media showed up. Originally, we planned to do so, but because we didn’t have time to plan for this, we couldn’t send out the invitations in time. Only one of the journalists from Tatler found out our wedding a few months ago and requested to attend. But a few days ago, he confirmed he couldn’t come due to some other “special event” popping up. So we now know what this “special event” was. :)

So in the future, whenever we celebrate the wedding anniversary, we will think of the Malaysia Prime Minister’s wedding anniversary!

Regards,
Harrace, the Happy Groom

Wow, we finally completed the wedding dinner in Mandarin Oriental. We’ve been at the hotel since 2pm to setup the Ballroom and had over 4 table displays of photo albums, and also “Love Trees” and much more posters & banners. During the setup this afternoon, my cousin Connie came to me with laughter and said that there were some hotel guests who saw our displays, and wanted to check what wedding packages we were promoting tonight!

That was a great compliment as we were the wedding planners as well as the “main actor & actress” of this wedding dinner. NO matter how much planning that you throw in (we were still “Planning” as we were decorating the ballroom, haha), you can never truly predict with 100% accuracy of its outcome.

The wedding was attended by over 200 guests, from different countries apart from Malaysia, such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Canada, and France. As Murphy’s Law stated, whatever can go wrong, will go wrong! We’ll share more of what funny incidents happened during our wedding & how to overcome any unpredictable circumstances.

Thanking all the guests for coming in to share our wedding on 9 June 2007 & we’re sure that the Cash Winners were the happiest ones when guests walked out with cash of over RM400 !!!

While i’m posting this blog comment, my hubby Harrace was already sound asleep in our bridal suite & it’s also time for me to get a good night sleep too.
We’ll be posting in more updates in the

Wow, it’s the big day today, finally! Fione and I are now in Mandarin Oriental, KL, preparing for this special event. As usual, being “last-min dot-com”, we did most of the things last minute, due to our extremely hectic schedule. But we expect this event to turn out to be unique, fun-filled, and memorable!

I just changed to a white suit, whereas Fione is still doing her make-up, but guests are coming in already! We will post more updates when we have an opportunity. We take this opportunity to thank all our guests who kindly help to make our event exciting and memorable!

Regards,
Harrace

I realised it was not so easy to find bridal videography in Malaysia because everyone seemed to be scattered. Anyway, i’ve compiled a list of the wedding themed video production companies you can consider.

I found 1 company that was advertising in lots of the bridal magazines locally but i actually had several prior dealings with this person and he was not handing in the videos on time for our corporate events. Therefore, although he used a different company name here, i still figured it out because i remembered the address. Needless to say i didn’t list him here.

1. Kid Chan Studios / Portrait One
- they are the most well known photo studio in this region, and i was delighted to see Kid Chan personally contacting me when i left a message in their blog.
- main focus in on photography. I had my Malaysia wedding shoot done with their team 2 weeks ago at popular wedding photography spots like the KL Train Station and of course the KLCC / Twin Towers area.
- Benny was the camera man assigned to handle our outdoor shoot & he was amazing. The photos turned out awesome & more lively than those typical bridal pose & shoot photos.
- the KL pre-wedding montage will be shown in my Malaysia wedding event in a musical video format and i’ve booked the wedding photo album (20 images per album) at the additional cost of RM1,800
