I realised that my Malaysia wedding is going to be held in just less than 2 months now, and guess what, i still have not confirmed my wedding make up artist. How do brides normally choose their wedding make up consultant?

The first thing that i did was to search online in Google, and Yahoo using keywords like “malaysia make up artist” , malaysia bridal make up artist, and also malaysia wedding make up artist. To my dismay, i was not able to get much choices of related results.

In the wedding forums, and some wedding blogs, i saw this abbreviated MUA term, and yes, you guessed it right, Make Up Artist.

There were many freelance make up artists such as Lee Kuen, and i saw a nice website of Monica Lee. Surprisingly, i’ve met Lee Kuen in person a few months back when i was attending a wedding fair in Prince Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. As we started chatting, i was surprised that she could actually recognise me as the Internet Marketing coach, from eOneNet. She has read some of our interviews in the local media.

Wow, i’ve just returned home from my wedding reception this evening. The past couple of days were hectic, rushing madly for last minute items. I still even had time to shop the whole day on Saturday & only came back home at 9pm, and less than 24 hours before my wedding today on Sunday.

More about the wedding event can be found on our Internet Marketing Blog - eOneNet.com

Apart from having wedding guests posting wedding wishes, live from the event (we had wireless wi-fis and 4 laptops just for this wedding dinner) via comments on the blog, guests also had a chance to sign in the event via video recordings.

I only managed to wear two gowns tonight:-
- my halterneck beaded wedding gown from Eric Choong
- gold champagne coloured A-Line evening gown from Beatrice Looi
Both of the designers are of course, among the Top 10 designers in Malaysia.

I’ll be posting more updates tomorrow and tips for planning your ultimate dream wedding after i get more beauty sleep.

Before i go for any photo shoot in the studio, i ensure that i get my nails done up as well. For your wedding photos, you can choose nails with silver, white, nude shimmer, or light pink. If pays to have nails done up with arcylic gel nail, and nail arts look great if you have swarovski crystals on them too.

For my wedding photos in December, i tried arcylic gel nails for the first time. This takes about 2 hours and i had it done about 10 days prior to my photo shooting.

During the recent HK Bridal exhibition in Wanchai, my fiancee, Harrace signed up for this bridal make up trial session, before we were to confirm the bridal make up services. Since it was near towards Chinese New Year, the roads were filled with cars, and of course we were late for the session. Originally, i booked the make up session at 7pm, but it took us nearly 45 minutes being stuck in the taxi, from Mongkok to Hunghom. The cab bill was also a huge HK$100.

Anyway, the bridal make up trial was to test whether i liked the make up and hairstyle designs of this make up artist. The price for testing the make up was HK$300 (for 2 hairstyles and 2 make up), and would be deducted from the bridal make up package if we signed up with them.

This make up artist was recommended by the other video and photography company that we had signed up at the exhibition early February. However, upon meeting the make up artist, i knew that this make up session is headed towards disaster. Here is a snapshot of the bridal make up and hair style.

From this photo shoot, it didn’t look so bad, but trust me, i know how a professional make up artist’s work should be like.

On Sunday, i signed up for a image consultancy course in Hong Kong’s Bio Beauty Culture. The course was conducted in Cantonese, with presentation using Apple. In about 2 hours, the principal image consultant went through image tips such as what colour theme each person belonged to. This was separated in the 4 seasons of spring, summer, autumn or winter, and whether this person should be cool or warm. The 2 hour course was priced at HK$380.

After ending the course, we were given a colour analysis, whereby coloured cloth was placed on our neck and chest area in order to choose the most appealing colour suitable for our skintone. Since it was an image consultancy course, i was of course already wearing make up, and before i could go through the colour analysis, i had to remove my make up so we were given make up removers.
