Business Times, May 30, 2001
eOneNet.com, the local e-business
services provider and Internet marketing consultant, and the National
Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (NCCIM) will be presenting
the second e-Business
Ownership Campaign (eBOC) in Malaysia.
According to the statement, the campaign will start from July
31 till the end of this year. The first eBOC was introduced in
2000 with the objectives of encouraging Malaysian businesses to
go online and received good response from small and medium businesses.
This year, the first International Internet Marketing Conference
will be held from July 31 to August 2 in Kuala Lumpur in conjunction
with the eBOC.
eOneNet.com president and
chief executive director (CEO) Fione Tan said from feedback gathered
at the first eBOC last year, most people were aware of the need
to get their businesses online.
However, 87% of them still adopted a wait-and-see?
attitude because of two main reasons. First, they
did not know how to get people to visit their websites and secondly,
they are not sure of their returns of investments.
In order to address their concerns, we have the privilege
to invite some top Internet marketing experts to present for the
first time in Malaysia at the International Internet Marketing
Conference.

Most of our members have some kind of web presence but only
a few have fully utilised the power of the Internet. In
view of the global dotcom crash, a lot of us are even more cautious
into investing into IT or eBusiness.
The eBOC 2001
is timely to educate us how to promote and market our services
on the Internet cost effectively and increase the ROI,?NCCIM
senior director Zaid Ismail said.
A signing ceremony was held at the press conference between the
organisers - eOneNet.com
and NCCIM, and the supporting association, Young Entrepreneurs
Association of Malaysia, yesterday.
